Parade Day

Hello Lovelies,
With Saint Patrick's Day around the corner, the town of Binghamton held a parade celebrating the Irish culture this past Saturday. Everyone, including university students and townies, came out to watch the parade, listen to the bagpipes, drink alcohol, and just have a lot of fun.

Day Time:

My day started out waking up from my friend's room since my roommate had company over. We all got ready and made sure to dress the part: GREEN! Everything we had on was green including our shirts, accessories, and our cute little shamrock headbands. We were able to catch an early bus downtown and discovered a little diner on one of the side streets. Although it was a smidge dingy and dilapidated (saying "smidge" is me trying to be nice), it had a cozy ambiance to it.
I am wearing:
Shirt: DKNY (Day Time), Old Navy (Evening); Jacket: Champion; Jeans: Levi
Shoes: Nike (Day Time), Booties (Evening)

After eating breakfast that left us satisfied, we headed down to the parade and wandered around. We saw a couple of random friends from our classes and had a couple of mixed drinks. The parade started in the afternoon and was filled with a lot of bagpipers, or bangers as I began to call them =p young Irish step dancers, people walking with different foundations, and a couple of creative floats.

Top o' the Mornin to Ya

Some of the highlights included:

  • Wearing GREEN!
  • Chris' Diner
  • Family Dollar
  • Orange Juice and Vodka (yes, at noon)
  • New Friends
  • Seeing the town of Binghamton in the daytime
  • Hanging out with my besties!
  • Relaxing at Cafe Oasis

Evening:

After the parade, we went back to the dorms and I got the chance to study for a little bit until we started to get ready to go out again. We drove downtown (with a designated driver) and headed to Cafe Oasis, a small and cozy hookah bar. We had a couple of rounds of drinks and had alot of fun together. When we came back to the dorms, we had some nacho dip and passed out.

Smokin!

Now I must get back to studying, I have to read, write a reaction paper, and study for a HARD midterm on Tuesday plus watch the Oscars for all of the Fashion and to see who wins!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely week ahead!

Fun! I am Irish but have never been to a St. Pattys Day parade =( They don't have many parades in So. Cal., well except for the Rose Parade haha!

Looks like you had a blast. Good luck with the test!

Ah, you look so adorable in your green! This looks like so much fun; and completely reminds me that I need to dig out a bit of green of my own - I don't want to be pinched!! :)

You've inspired me. Maybe we'll get a sitter and actually do something for St. Patty's Day this year!
