For my cousin's bridal shower, my mom and aunt baked delicious treats in the form of various cookies for the guests to nibble on while they watched the bride-to-be open her shower gifts. If I wasn't on bridesmaid duty, jotting down gifts and their well-wishers, I probably would have eaten a whole platter. By myself. Despite eating more than my fair share as they came out of the oven the day before. The roof of my mouth is still a bit burned. Totally worth it.
