Styles Points From ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars

Hello Darlings,

I admit to the fact that I have guilty pleasures that comes in many forms, one of the most obvious are television shows. The different shows on T.V. that I love can be found on wide and diverse spectrum, from syndicated sitcoms, to epic dramas, to feel good dramedies, to reality shows, to just plain crap. ABC Family is not a channel that I turn on regularly except when they play reruns of some of my favorite shows (Gilmore Girls anyone?) That being said, it was hard to ignore all of the promotions and commercials regarding the new series Pretty Little Liars. It seemed ridiculous and intriguing at the same time. When I watched the series premiere my expectations were not very high as I expected it to have a weak storyline, horrible acting, (Secret Life of the American Teenager? I can't watch more than five minutes without cringing and forcing Nicole to turn it off - if she doesn't I literally leave the room), and knock-off Gossip Girl type fashion.

Two episodes in, I am pleasantly surprised to say that I have become hooked to the show and have sinced filed it under my guilty pleasures along with young adult fiction, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, and trashy romance novels. Although slow at times, the storyline is interesting and makes you actually want to know who is behind the whole mystery. The acting is decent and the characters are semi-relatable. The best part for me however, is the style behind each of the four main characters. It's not quite up to par as Gossip Girl but that is to be expected; on Gossip Girl fashion is a character in the show, in Pretty Little Liars, the fashion is just along for the ride.
