364 Un-Birthdays In A Year...

...but tomorrow is mine!

Hello Darlings,

I will be leaving those wonderful and tumultuous teen years behind and be turning the big 2-0. It's scary, exciting, and nostalgic; there is something bittersweet about being twenty. I'm not a teenager anymore but I'm not the fun age of 21, I'm just sort of stuck in the middle right now. I had an awesome bunch of teenage years but today is my last day to do anything rebellious or reckless (I was a pretty calm teenager.) I don't have any ideas in mind so I'll probably stick to just relaxing...I have a ballroom lesson tonight with a professional instructor!

I saw my aunt earlier and I received an early birthday gift! My aunt gets her hair cut at the Bumble and Bumble studios in Midtown so I asked her what kind of products she uses for her hair as we both have similar hair textures. For my birthday, she bought me these products with tips that her hair stylist gave instructing how to use them.

Basically, the Bb Defrizz product can be used on anyone with rough, course, and/or frizzy hair. Depending on the hair length, a dime sized amount should be added to damp or dry hair in order to style. If added with other styling cremes, it creates a smooth, sleek, and humidity-proof hair.

The Bb Curl Conscious products are used to smooth and soften natural curly hair that tends to frizz and keeps them from becoming crunchy (I never liked the look of crunchy scrunched hair, it reminds me of being in the 9th grade!) This product is applied to damp hair with a dime sized amount from the roots to tips and air or dried or heat dried. The pink colored bottle is a calming creme while the blue bottle is a defining creme.
I have not yet used the calming creme but have tried the defining creme. It smells heavenly, almost like chamomile but I have not been completely satisfied with the way my hair has turned out. When I put it in and let my hair air dry, it stills comes out frizzy. I will definitely use it more with different approaches. I am going to try putting in the defrizz creme in first and see how it comes out, or maybe might even try to use a bigger amount than a dime sized as my hair is slightly long.

The last product is the one I'm most excited to use, the Bumble South Surf Spray which is a slat infused spray that leaves hair with a "sexy wild, wind-styled texture you get after an ocean swim." I've heard many reviews rave about salt spray and even through word of mouth that it leaves your hair looking awesome. This product is supposed to be used as a finish for a matte finish. I'm not sure if that means it's supposed to go on hair after the other styling products while still wet OR after the hair is dried. I guess I'll just have to experiment on this one, but my hopes are really high for this salt spray!
