You Can Fall Out Of Bed

Breaks always fly by so fast; alas (what a funny word) here I am at the end of my final winter break and at the beginning of my final semester as a college student. That's a lot of beginnings and endings read within the last five seconds. I drove up Saturday with my mom and was delighted when she stayed the night. Sunday morning was all about brunch, shopping, and restocking the apartment. While I am excited to be back here in Bing, one of the saddest feelings ever felt is when a loved one leaves you to go back home. Luckily I wasn't alone for long as Meg arrived just as I was saying good-bye to my mom. And now here I am. Classes start Monday and for the few days beforehand, I'm just hanging around, enjoying lazy freedom and job hunting before the hectic semester begins.Looking for a part-time job is quite the pain in the ass. Just saying.

I read this interesting article in the New York Times that states that the new hair and make-up trend for 2012 is "effortless, minimalist, just-out-of-bed-with-your-lover," a look that is “coming home from the party, not going out to the party.” College students everywhere rejoice! Any look that embodies messy hair and smudged eyeliner is one I am a fan of. I think I can safely say that I was ahead of the trend on this one (re: always having messy hair and no makeup in lecture although I despise seeing students wearing pajamas outside of their dorms) One thing I am not looking forward to seeing as part of this trend is the "Popsicle Mouth." That look needs to end when you graduate kindergarten. I have always tried to maintain a minimal makeup routine, so I am glad that this trend is in now and will still probably keep "in" long after it is "out."
I am wearing: Sweater: (American Eagle); Tank: (Old Navy); Leggings: (Costco); Slippers: (Walmart); Glasses: (Dior)

In celebration of this new beauty trend, I was inspired to do a post in my lounging clothes with no makeup and messy hair. This doesn't digress far from my normal look, but usually I put some kind of effort in looking presentable before taking self-blog-pictures.But hey, a trend is a trend and who am I to argue? Tonight, I'm going to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D with Meg and I am beyond excited! Did anyone else see it in theaters yet?
